The truth is, you do have a marketing budget because you’ve likely spent money on ads of some kind. You basically know what you are willing to spend each month to get a lead but, you’ve likely been trying all different kinds of marketing ads that don’t seem to have much ROI. I bet you’ve tried to advertise with some of the following: Google Ad Words, grocery store carts, Facebook, Linkedin, local magazines, mailers, Yelp, etc. Why didn’t they work even though you spent a decent amount on paying for them?
When it comes to marketing, there are many aspects and phases in order to be successful with your campaigns. If you have not established “personas” or “avatars” to test and reach your target market, you shouldn’t spend any money on ads yet. The reason they don’t work out for you is that you have not figured out how to catch the attention of your target audience.
For some, marketing is confusing and they don’t understand that it takes more than business cards and a website to grow their business. You also need to establish your brand and how you want to be known and recognized. (Yes your business is a brand, even though it’s not Coca Cola.)
